Generator repair and service in Ajman
Ajman is the one emirate where our workshop is effectively next door. Ajman Industrial Area 1 runs along the Sharjah boundary; our unit is behind the Yerevan Steel Factory in Industrial Area 15, on the other side of the same industrial belt. That is not a marketing point — it changes what a repair looks like, and this page is about the difference it makes.
Ask whether the component can go and return the same day
Most generator repairs split in two: what can be done where the set stands, and what has to come off and go to a bench. In Dubai or further afield the second half means three journeys and, in practice, two days added to the job. Between Ajman and Industrial Area 15 that sequence collapses — a control panel can be diagnosed on your site, opened on our electrical bench and refitted the same day, and a starter motor, a charging alternator, an AVR, a set of injectors or a cylinder head can go back and forth inside a working day. Ajman is the one emirate other than Sharjah where the answer to that question is regularly yes.
The same arrangement is described from the workshop end on generator repair in Sharjah. Engine, machining and fuel injection work for the same customers is on diesel engine repair and machining for Ajman.
The local plant
The Ajman industrial areas, and what runs there
The generator population here is not Dubai's, and the faults follow the equipment.
Industrial Areas 1 and 2
Textiles, printing, joinery, fisheries and trading. Small to mid-sized sets, often standing outdoors, and often older than anyone's records of them.
Al Jurf Industrial 1, 2 and 3
Logistics, warehousing and labour accommodation. A lot of lightly used standby plant, much of it feeding blocks where an outage is a welfare problem rather than a production one.
Ajman Free Zone, by the port
Trading, light manufacturing, food and logistics — free zone access and permits, and salt-laden air.
The city and the coastal strip
Building standby sets in basement and rooftop plant rooms, mostly on facilities contracts with a life-safety obligation.
Three local patterns
What changes the diagnosis here
- Cold storage and fisheries loads start hard
Refrigeration compressors starting direct-on-line pull several times their running current at very poor power factor. On a set with little margin that reads as a voltage dip, an under-frequency event or a breaker that trips every time the plant cycles — and it is regularly mistaken for a failing alternator. See tripping the breaker and load calculation and sizing.
- Dust-generating industries load the machine externally
Woodworking, textile and stone-cutting units fill the air with fine material. Radiator cores block, air filters load, and dust bridges terminals inside panels. Here a cooling or earth-fault complaint is a cleaning problem far more often than a component problem.
- Port-adjacent salt
Specific to the Free Zone and the coastal end. Salt attacks terminations, switchgear and winding insulation — so insulation resistance is worth trending on sets in that belt rather than measuring once when something has already gone wrong.
The split
What we do on your site, and what comes to the bench
On site, in Ajman
Where the set stands
- Batteries, chargers and start circuits
- Fuel filters, water separators, air in the system, tank contamination
- Radiator cleaning, thermostats, hoses, belts and water pumps
- Sensors, senders and shutdown faults
- AVR replacement and setting; controller alarms and configuration
- Scheduled servicing to the engine manufacturer's interval, readings logged and a report left behind
Back to Industrial Area 15
Where a bench is needed
- Stator and rotor rewinding — needs a winding bay and an oven
- Crankshaft grinding, line boring, reboring and head surfacing — machine tools
- Injection pump and injector calibration — needs a test bench
- Turbocharger work
- Control panels with burnt tracks or failed protection, traced with the board out
The building keeps its cabling, its exhaust and its foundations untouched. The full boundary between site work and bench work is set out on generator repair and service.
Standby sets in Ajman fail from time, not from use
Most of the standby plant in Al Jurf and in the city runs a few minutes a month and sits for the rest. Battery, coolant inhibitor, rubber and fuel degrade on the calendar regardless of the hour meter, and the failure appears on the one day the supply actually drops — which is why a set that has never given any trouble is often the one that will not start. Scheduled servicing is scoped against your equipment and your site, with priority when something fails between visits: generator AMC and maintenance contracts.
Common questions
Working in Ajman, answered
Do you have an office in Ajman?
No. Our workshop is behind the Yerevan Steel Factory in Industrial Area 15, Sharjah, and we would rather say that than list a virtual address. For Ajman it is barely a distinction — the workshop is in the adjacent industrial belt, which is exactly why the same-day component route described above works from here and does not work from further away.
How quickly can you reach a set in Ajman?
Ajman is the shortest run of any emirate we work in, and a site currently without power goes to the front of the queue. Rather than publish a figure that would be honest only at some hours, we give you a realistic time on the call for your area at that hour. Tell us where the set is, what the panel says and whether the site is dark.
Can you rewind a generator alternator for an Ajman site?
Yes, in our own winding bay in Sharjah. The alternator comes off your set, is stripped, tested, wound, impregnated and cured, and comes back. That work does not travel to a subcontractor and does not join another workshop's queue — see alternator repair and rewinding.
My generator is down right now. What should I do first?
Do not repeatedly reset a shutdown alarm — read what it says and photograph the screen. The troubleshooting guide lists the faults where restarting turns a repairable engine into a scrap one. Then call emergency generator repair on +971 50 767 9050.
Get an engineer to your Ajman site
Tell us the area — Industrial Area 1 or 2, Al Jurf, the Free Zone or the city — the make, model and rating, and what the controller is showing. Photograph the alarm screen and the data plate and send them to the same number: that is usually enough to tell us whether it is a site fix or a bench job before anyone drives anywhere, and on the Ajman run it often means the engineer arrives already carrying the part.
