Generator repair and service in Dubai

We repair and service diesel generators across Dubai on site — in plant rooms, on rooftops, in yards and in compounds — with the workshop in Industrial Area 15, Sharjah behind the vans for the parts of the job that cannot be done where the set stands. Established 2011, over 25 years of experience, ISO 9001:2015 certified, no brand dealership.

We do not keep a Dubai address, and we are not going to pretend otherwise

What we run in Dubai is mobile attendance: engineers, tools, test equipment and the common failure parts, arriving at your set. The Sharjah workshop is where a rewind or a crankshaft goes; everything short of that happens at your building.

Where the work is

Dubai areas, and how the job differs in each

Generator work reaching us from Dubai concentrates in a predictable set of places.

AreaWhat the work looks like there
Al QuozLight industrial units, workshops and warehouses. Mostly compact standby sets and yard gensets, frequently with tight access and shared compounds.
Ras Al KhorIndustrial and manufacturing. Larger prime-duty sets working real hours rather than standing by.
Jebel Ali and JAFZAFree zone plots, logistics and manufacturing, plus port-adjacent work. Access is controlled, so gate passes matter as much as spanners.
Dubai Investments Park and DIPMixed industrial and residential compounds, with a lot of standby plant.
Dubai Maritime City and the marinasVessel and shore-side generators, where the set may be aboard. See marine generator repair.
Business Bay, Deira, Bur Dubai and the towersBuilding standby sets in basement or rooftop plant rooms, usually on a facilities contract with a life-safety obligation attached.
Drive time varies more with the hour than with the destination

Northern and eastern Dubai are a short run off-peak and a long one at 17:00, and the free zones add gate time on top. We give you a realistic arrival time on the call, for that area at that hour, rather than publishing a figure that would be honest only half the day.

At your building

What gets done on site in Dubai

The majority of generator faults are resolved where the set stands — that is the point of running a mobile operation into another emirate rather than asking customers to move plant.

Starting and electrical

  • Batteries, chargers, isolators, cabling and start circuits
  • Sensors, senders and shutdown faults, and controller alarms that are reporting a real problem rather than a failed sensor
  • AVR replacement and setting, and the field circuit checks that decide whether the fault is the AVR or the alternator
Control panel & AVR repair

Fuel and cooling

  • Filters, water in the tank, lift pumps, air in the system, tank contamination
  • Radiator cleaning, thermostats, hoses, water pumps, fan and belt faults
Fuel system service

Servicing and diagnosis

  • Scheduled servicing to the engine manufacturer's interval, on an agreed visit pattern
  • Diagnosis with readings, so that if the set does need to come apart, the recommendation rests on numbers rather than opinion
Maintenance contracts

Trying to work out which of these you have before calling? Diesel generator troubleshooting walks the common faults in order.

The honest boundary

What has to come back to Sharjah

Some jobs cannot be done in a plant room at any price. In each case the component travels and the set stays.

Stator or rotor rewindStripping, winding, impregnation and curing on a bench with an oven.
Crankshaft grinding, line boring, reboring, head surfacingMachine tools, not hand tools.
Injection pump and injector calibrationNeeds a test bench, not a screwdriver.
Turbocharger rebuild and balancingNeeds a balancing machine.
A control panel with burnt tracksOr failed protection — board out, traced on a bench.
Everything elseStays at your building, which is what keeps a Dubai generator's downtime shortest.
Ask what covers the building meanwhile

That is the second question a facilities manager asks, and it goes much better before the alternator is on the back of a pickup than after. Depending on the set, the load and the season, the answer may be sequencing the work around a shutdown window, splitting it so the set is returnable to service between visits, or arranging temporary cover. The alternator rewinding page describes what happens to a stator once it reaches the bay.

Local reality

The Dubai-specific parts of the job

01

Access is half the work

A callout that goes wrong usually goes wrong before anyone touches the set: no gate pass, no permit to work, a basement that needs building security to open, a rooftop that needs a lift booked, a free zone gate that will not admit a van without paperwork filed in advance. Tell us on the call what the site needs and we file it before the engineer leaves.

02

Shutdown windows

In an occupied tower or a working plant, the part of the service that needs the set to run on load — and the part that exercises the changeover — has to be booked. We agree that window before the visit rather than discovering it on arrival.

03

Handover paperwork

Facilities and building management generally need the visit documented: readings taken, work done, parts fitted, dated and signed. Every attendance leaves that behind, because in most cases our customer has to hand it to their own client.

04

The DEWA supply is reliable, which is the problem

Standby sets run a few minutes a month and sit for the rest. They fail from time rather than from use — flat batteries, degraded coolant, stale fuel, seized components — and they fail on the day the supply finally does drop. That needs a calendar-driven schedule and an annual proving run under real load, not an hour-meter schedule.

For breakdowns, emergency generator repair sets out what to tell us on the phone and what not to reset before we arrive. For the other services we bring into Dubai — engine repair, machine shop work and fuel systems — see Dubai coverage.

Common questions

Working in Dubai, answered

Do you have an office in Dubai?

No. Our workshop is behind the Yerevan Steel Factory in Industrial Area 15, Sharjah, and we work in Dubai on site with mobile engineers. We would rather say that plainly than list a virtual address. For most generator work the location of the workshop is irrelevant — what matters is how quickly an engineer with the right parts reaches your set, and what happens to a component that has to come off it.

Can you come the same day?

For a breakdown, that is what we work to, and a site currently without power goes to the front of the queue. Whether it happens depends on where in Dubai the site is, what time the call comes in, and whether the site can be entered without paperwork we do not yet hold — which is why the access question matters as much as the fault does. Call, describe both, and you will be given a time for today or a straight answer that it is tomorrow.

My generator is in a basement plant room. Can it still be repaired?

Almost always, yes — that is exactly why the mobile route exists. If the failure is one of the ones that needs a bench, we remove that component and take it to the workshop rather than trying to extract the whole set from a basement.

Do you service generators under a maintenance contract in Dubai?

Yes, and on the same basis as Sharjah sets: scoped against your equipment and your site rather than sold as a package, with a written report after every attendance and priority when something fails between visits. See generator AMC and annual maintenance contracts.

Which generator brands do you work on in Dubai?

All the common ones. We hold no brand dealership, and we work on the engine side, the alternator side and the panel side of the set regardless of the badge — the coverage list is on generator brands we service.

Get an engineer to your Dubai site

Tell us the area, the building, the access arrangement, the make, model and rating, and what the controller is showing — photograph the panel and the data plate and send them to the same number. That is usually enough to send the right engineer with the right part first time — which is the version of a Dubai callout worth having.
