Generator repair in Sharjah — the workshop itself

This is the page about the building: where sets and components come when the repair is bigger than a plant room will allow. A burnt stator, a seized engine, a panel that has to be stripped on a bench rather than diagnosed on a rooftop.

What is on site

Five areas, one management, one set of measurements

The reason to bring a generator here rather than to a general repair shop is that the alternator bay, the engine bay and the machine shop are on the same premises.

Engine bay

  • Gensets and bare engines stripped, measured, rebuilt and run.
Generator overhaul

Winding bay

  • Alternator stators and rotors stripped, tested, rewound, varnished and re-tested.
Alternator rewinding

Machine shop

  • Crankshaft grinding, line boring, cylinder head surfacing, reboring, honing, connecting-rod boring and lathe work.
The machine shop

Electrical bench

  • Control panels, AVRs, AMF and ATS boards, starter motors and charging alternators.
Panel & AVR repair

Fuel bench

  • Injection pumps, injectors and governors stripped, tested and calibrated.
Fuel system service
What that gives a customer is not a machine list

A stator can be tested, stripped, wound, varnished, cured and re-tested without leaving the premises. An engine can be stripped, its crankshaft ground, its block bored and its head surfaced without any component entering another company's queue or another company's tolerance. Nothing waits on a subcontractor's schedule, because there is no subcontractor — which is a date that holds, a single point of responsibility when a job turns out worse than it looked, and measurements taken by the same people who did the machining.

How to find us

Give a driver the Yerevan Steel Factory, not a plot number. We are directly behind it, in Industrial Area 15 on Maliha Road. It is a far better instruction for anyone arriving with a genset on a trailer, a stator in a pickup or a crankshaft across a flatbed — and it is what we give people on the phone. Call when you are close and someone will meet the vehicle, so a set does not sit at the gate while a bay is cleared.

Getting it here

Bringing a generator in

Most enquiries begin with the same question: can you take it, and how does it get to you?

01

A component only

An alternator, a control panel, an engine, a cylinder head or a crankshaft on a pickup. The most common route and the fastest — the set stays where it is and only the failed part travels.

02

A skid-mounted set on a trailer

Sets come in whole where that is sensible. Tell us the rating, the overall dimensions and the weight before you book transport and we confirm the handling and clear the bay.

03

A canopied standby set

Lifted off its plinth. This needs planning at your end — crane, permits, and temporary supply if the building cannot be without standby power while the set is away.

04

Or we collect the component

If moving the set is the difficult part, say so on the call. In most cases only the failed component needs to travel, and arranging its collection and return is part of the job rather than your problem to solve.

Large work is taken; very small work is what we decline

The practical limit on any given day is the lifting and the bay rather than the machining, which is why the conversation before the transport is booked matters. Walk-ins are welcome during working hours for diagnosis and for dropping components — call ahead on +971 50 767 9050 for anything that needs lifting, and for anything late in the day so someone is expecting you.

The line between site and bench

Why work comes to Sharjah rather than staying on site

An on-site repair is limited by what can be done safely in a plant room with hand tools. These five things are what bring sets here.

Stator or rotor rewindThe winding has to come out, be stripped, wound, impregnated and cured. Bench work with an oven, not field work.
Alternator bearing housing wearWhere the housing itself has to be machined and sleeved rather than the bearing simply replaced.
An engine that needs the crankshaft outGrinding, line boring the main bearing bores, or reboring liners. All machine-tool work.
A cylinder headPressure testing, seat cutting and surfacing.
A control panel with burnt tracksOr failed protection that has to be traced on a bench with the board out.
Everything else stays where the set standsFilters, batteries, sensors, AVR replacement, fuel and cooling faults, adjustment and testing.
On-site work is a different page

What can be done where the set stands, in Sharjah and beyond, is set out on generator repair and service.

On-site attendance

Sharjah areas we attend

All of it runs from the same workshop.

  • Industrial Areas 1 to 18
  • Al Sajaa
  • Hamriyah Free Zone
  • SAIF Zone
  • Al Khan and the city
  • The industrial areas along the Emirates Road corridor

Sharjah work splits differently from Dubai work

Most of these are a short run from Industrial Area 15 — the workshop sits in the same industrial belt as the sets it maintains rather than across an emirate border from them. Here a component can go back and forth between your site and the bench in the same day: a panel diagnosed on site in the morning, opened on the bench at lunchtime, refitted in the afternoon. In another emirate that same sequence is three journeys and usually two days. For work in Dubai, where more of the job is done at your site, see generator repair in Dubai. Ajman is the one other emirate the same-day arrangement genuinely applies to — see generator repair in Ajman.

The workshop itself — the machine shop, the fuel bench and everything we do beyond generators — is described on the Sharjah workshop page.

Common questions

Bringing work to the workshop

Can I bring a generator to your workshop without an appointment?

Yes for diagnosis and for dropping off components — an alternator, a panel, an engine or a head. Call first if the set is on a trailer or needs lifting, so a bay and the lifting equipment are free when you arrive.

Do I have to bring the whole set in?

Usually not, and usually you should not. In most workshop repairs only the failed component travels — the alternator, the panel, the injection equipment or the engine. The set stays on its plinth and the site keeps its cabling and connections intact.

How long will a workshop repair take?

It depends on which job it is and on parts availability, and we quote the time with the price rather than after it. A rewind and a crankshaft grind are different jobs on different machines with different queues, and a varnish and oven cycle cannot be rushed without producing a poor job. What we can say is that the queue is ours: the reason turnaround slips at most UAE repairers is the wait for a third-party machine shop or winding shop, and that step does not exist here. You are given a date once the machine has been stripped and measured, and told promptly if anything found changes it.

Do you test the set before it leaves?

Yes. Repaired sets and rebuilt engines are run before they go back, and where the rating and the customer's requirement justify it we load bank test rather than run off load. A set that has only been run off load has not been proven.

Are you a dealer for any generator brand?

No. We hold no brand dealership. We are an independent workshop, which is why we repair components that a dealer network would replace.

Send the engine and alternator model, the rating, and a photograph of the data plate and the panel display — that tells us whether it is a job for your site or for our bay before anyone drives anywhere.
